Dear Parents,

For next week

Literacy:

Your child is on the hunt for new ideas for writing. Will you help your child select an object that will be a starting point for a piece of writing? This object should:
1. be personally meaningful to your child
2. have a story behind it ( perhaps how your child got it and why it is special).
3. be of little monetary value (in case it gets lost).
4. be easy to carry

The object could be a refrigerator magnet from a special vacation, a rock from the front yard where your child learned to ride a bike, a ticket from a favorite concert, a card or a letter from a special person, a photograph capturing a special moment etc. we are going to be writing personal narratives about why these objects are special. The object will be returned to you by the end of the week.

Thanks for your help. I look forward to share your child's writing with you once the project is complete.

UOI:

1. As you are aware, we are inquiring about healthy eating. Request you all to send a few empty packets of food items with your child to school on Monday. You may send empty food packets of biscuits, cereals, maggie, grains, milk packets/cartons, chocolates, etc.

2. Today, your child will be bringing in a daily log booklet. He/ she has to complete it on a daily basis. This is for your child to reflect on his/her daily routines. The data from the daily log will further be used for Summative Assessment.
Please support your child's efforts for this assignment by ensuring that he/she completes the log. Please provide assistance if required.

Kind Regards, Val and Koyal.

Blog Update!

Hello blog viewers! From now until the end of the year we will discontinue the use of blogs as a form of communication between teachers and parents. After evaluating how best to utilize blogs for our upcoming academic year 2015-2016, we will notify you via email with links and directions for the most effective and efficient way for you to stay informed. If you need any information regarding your child's learning environment and/or progress at OIS please contact one of your homeroom teachers. Thank you!
