During this unit students are learning about different folk arts from around the world and their style of painting and different mediums used to express themselves. They learned about Mexican painting which is an Mexican folk art. They were very excited to learn this new style of painting and to learn about how these artists would draw sun in different ways using metal as the medium. Students made sun using foil as their surface and used glass liner to draw a sun and painted it using glass paint adding natural things like birds and animals in their artwork. Students enjoyed doing this art very much using this art style.
