We have really been having a great time in music class exploring our unit on melody and vocal exploration! In grade 2 music class, we have been looking at using different voices and how this aspect of music is called vocal timbre. Then we discovered how important our ears are to singing, and that when we use them to listen and blend with the sounds we hear, it is called matching pitch. In addition, we have been exploring our voices in various ways. One way we tried last week was to create a roller coaster out of string for our voices to go on. We practiced as a class, but then broke into partner groups and tried this. The students got really creative with their ideas and made their voices go very high and low.
I have created my own blog with more information about what is happening in class, as well as some photos and videos. Click here to go to my blog.
