Gr. 2 F: During the past two weeks, beginners practised drills so that each child could swim a front crawl independently. We also practiced backstroke drills, various floating techniques and
underwater swimming. For Advanced and Intermediate groups we focused on drills
to improve front and back crawl, breaststroke kick, sprints for endurance and
underwater swimming.
Grade 2C and 2D: This was the 2nd half of their swimming unit. Students learned to do freestyle and backstroke kicking with a kick board. Advanced swimmers practiced freestyle and backstroke techniques with and without a kick board. They enjoyed fun games such as the ring game (to fetch underwater rings).
Grade 2A & 2E
This was our last week of Adventure Challenge and racket games. Students practiced rally, badminton skills and played 11 point games.
Grade 2B: This
was the 2nd half of our swimming unit. Students learned warming up exercises before they hit the pool. They were encouraged to be serious with their warm ups
and stretches to avoid any injuries on and off the pool area. They learned to do freestyle and backstroke
kicking with a kick board. Advanced swimmers practiced freestyle and
backstroke with and without a kick board. They enjoyed a fun game called Find
the Treasures (to fetch underwater rings). With every child
showing keen interest and gusto in swimming it was evident that they really
enjoyed the swimming session.
