  • Testing prior knowledge - Students show their understanding of the concept in their own way.
  • Students are introduced to different strategies like - Making ten, Number strings, Doubles, Near doubles and Break up.
  • Students do hands on activities to understand the concept better.
In Language arts,

Reading- 

  • Students continue to read books of their choice - Daily Five.
  • Students are introduced to the features of a nonfiction books. They read nonfiction books kept in the class library.

Writing

Learning objective- 
  • To write a descriptive piece on any chosen topic by following the writing process.
Learning engagement- 
  • Students wrote on different topics. They used descriptive words to describe their topic.
