Learning objective - To identify and understand the persuasive techniques used by different types of media.

Learning engagements-

  • Students explore different newspapers,magazines, flyers, brochures and books.
  • Students discuss about the purpose and the techniques used in each type of print media.
  • Students watch videos of advertisements.
  • Students identify and discuss the purpose of the advertisement, the audience targeted, the techniques used in it.
  • Students present their observation as a group.
Learning objective - To understand how media has changed over the years and how it affects us.

Learning engagements-


  • Students visit Whistling Woods acting academy and watch a presentation related to the journey of Indian cinema - how it has evolved from silent movies to 3D animation movies.
  • Students discuss about the kind of audience targeted (kids, family etc) while making movies.

Reading-
Students continue reading books related to

  • Media
  • Magazines for kids.
  • Fiction.
  • Non- fiction

Writing- 

Learning objective - To write a persuasive letter by following the writing process.

Learning engagements -

  • Book reading - Teacher reads a book titled 'I wanna new room'. Students make predictions, identify and summarize the ways the character tries to persuade his parents.
  • Students watch a video related to persuasive letter writing and discuss. 
  • The class selects a topic and drafts a letter (along with the teacher).
  • Students choose a topic and write/draft a persuasive letter independently. 


In Mathematics,

Learning objective -  To understand the concept of regrouping while solving subtraction sums.

Learning engagements-


  • Students watch a video related to subtraction and discuss.
  • Students try solving subtraction sums as a class.
  • Students use manipulative, number chart as well as base ten to understand the concept of regrouping.
  • Students solve subtraction sums independently.
